The National Initiative for Sustainable Entrepreneurs(NISE)
Within the framework of the increasing interest of the Egyptian political leadership in entrepreneurship and the government’s continuous guidance to implement small, medium and micro projects, and in conjunction with Egypt’s hosting of the COP27 Climate Summit 2022 and the start of the “SwitchMed Down the Nile for sustainable economy, both blue and green” project, which is being implemented by the Center for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE), in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and UNEP/MAP Regional Activity Centre for SCP (MedWaves), the National Initiative for Sustainable Entrepreneurs was launched in October 2022.
What is the national initiative for Sustainable entrepreneurs and what are its most important objectives?
The National Initiative for Sustainable Entrepreneurs (NISE) is a national partnership to support entrepreneurs working in the green and blue sustainable economy in Egypt. In addition, it represents an important platform that brings together various partners working in the fields of sustainability in Egypt, especially the blue and green economy, from government agencies, entrepreneurs, academia, financial institutions, and non-governmental organizations. Moreover, the initiative aims to shed light on the most important challenges that hinder the growth of entrepreneurs in Egypt and work to meet their needs. The initiative also plays an important role in exchanging information and experiences between various workers in the fields of sustainability in Egypt, in addition to enhancing services provided to sustainable entrepreneurs in Egypt.
